I have been a member at Impact Health Studio for two years, and I credit Jason and Emma with changing my life. When I joined, I was 24 years old, underweight and living a very unhealthy lifestyle. I had been wanting to improve my fitness for many years, but was overwhelmed by the “big gyms” and the superficial side of the industry.


Although my main aim when I first began at Impact Health Studio was to change my physical appearance, what actually changed was my health overall.


I initially thought being healthy was judged from your physical appearance. I soon learned health actually begins on the inside. Exercise is only part of the picture, and without a proper diet, you can never be truly healthy.


Jason and Emma taught me the correct foods to eat, to not only get the best out of my exercise routines, but to get the best out of life. Because I am now eating the right foods at the right times, I have the energy to live my life to the fullest. I am a happier person and more enjoyable to be around.


The relaxed, family atmosphere at Impact Health Studio makes exercising enjoyable. There is no judging, no competition, and all members are respectful and friendly.  In addition to the fun and dynamic classes; meditation and yoga sessions have allowed me to become more balanced and empowered.


Through personal training sessions, Jason and Emma have taken my fitness to the next level. They helped me reach my goals with encouragement, support and most importantly, knowledge and expertise.

BECOMING A MEMBER AT IMPACT HEALTH HAS CHANGED MY LIFE….


Yes, this is a big statement but one that I don’t use lightly. When I walked through the door at Impact I was disillusioned with the fitness industry, even though I tried I never warmed to traditional gyms, I am not a runner or a swimmer either and due to chronic back pain from a car accident my social sport days were over. All I knew was that I wanted to get fit. Jason took one look at me and saw that I in was in pain, from his first words I knew I was in the right place for me. We then commenced on a 12 month long correctional program and supplemented this with the boxing, pilates and circuit classes on offer there.

 

I am now free of the chronic pain that I carried for 8 years, fitter than I ever have been in adult life and I am the healthiest I have ever been. I now have the platform to live the life that I want to and Impact have played no small part in that. Jason’s work with me in 12 months was far more successful than the previous 8 years of physio or chiropractic work that I had on my back. I can see in his eyes and hear in his voice the passion that he has for helping people in situations such as mine. Jason is never satisfied with his knowledge level, he is a perpetual learner and is always researching new techniques and theories, I found this comforting.   


The environment at Impact is non-judgemental, friendly, fun, energetic and jovial, a far cry from the gyms that I have been a member of. I love walking through the door and seeing their smiling/friendly faces, it’s something that I look forward to each day that I go there. Emma is simply amazing, not only as a person but in her care of her members. I have found her knowledge on foods and diet to be extraordinary and she is always too willing to share this and help people who approach her. This is one of many point-of-differences that I have found between Impact Health and traditional gyms or even other fitness studios. The key word is health, they are not about pumping iron or sitting on a bike for an hour. They are about inner-health as much as fitness. They are more about how we will feel at 60, 70 or even 80 and setting up for that rather than creating the perfect body now. 


In my 18 months of going to Impact I have faced some very tough personal demons in the form of mental illness. This was the lowest point in my life Jason and Emma have played a huge part in me overcoming these demons. I have been fortunate to have them become good friends, their ears and advice in that time helped me more than they could ever have known. It was also the simple things like walking through the door there knowing that I was heading into an environment that is friendly, caring and non-judgmental that helped. The training as well as their advice on diet helped me through this period so much as I was able to keep my body fit and healthy and that allowed me to concentrate on the recovery of my mental health.

  
Jason, Emma and the Impact team won’t change your life on their own. They will however provide the environment, training, advice and care for you to do so if you’re prepared to put in the hard work. Above all, their classes are fun!

I joined with Impact after moving to Newcastle from the Gold Coast and was very quickly welcomed into the “Impact Family” and now, 12 months later I consider Emma, Jason and Andrew to be friends, which I feel says a lot about their beautiful characters.  I am a Personal Trainer studying to be a physio and considering that, the knowledge I have gained through exercising with Emma, Jason and Andrew is second to none. Not only are they a top group of people but they are full of seemingly endless knowledge which they share, passionately with their clients. They don’t just tell you to do an exercise, they tell you why it should be done or why it is beneficial.

 

I used to suffer from tension headaches on a regular basis which would stem from my neck and shoulders, but with the expertise of the Impact team through correct technique and back strengthening exercises I haven’t had a problem since. The crunching in my shoulders has also disappeared. The fact that the group class sizes are kept small allows them to spend time with each of us to ensure we are performing the exercises with correct technique, which is absolutely vital to the success and safety of any training program.

 

Impact Health Studio has a unique take on health and fitness which is unfortunately rare within the industry. They believe that health and fitness is about balance; wholesome, natural foods for health with which weight-loss etc. will follow, exercise for not only fitness but also for feeling good and happy within ourselves. All beliefs with which I share a great passion for.

"Jason has been an exceptional personal trainer and after spending 9 months with him I cannot recommend him enough.


I first started seeing Jason due to knee pain that prevented me from participating in any sporting activity. I also had an embarrassing lack of core strength, such as the inability to do lunges without assistance and I could not hold the plank position

Jason quickly diagnosed the root of my knee problem and immediately set off to improve my core strength along with a nutrition plan.

Within the first 3 months of focusing on core strength, I saw dramatic improvements in my overall health and reduction in knee pain.

At 6 months, I had lost all the weight I had gained since working full time two years ago and no longer had any knee pain.

At the completion of 9 months of training my flexibility, strength and endurance was better than it ever had been. I had gone from 102kg to 93kg and was regularly exercising without any significant aches or pains...the best outcome I could have hoped for!


Other aspects of my life had also improved such as mental health and better focus and productivity at work.

I felt confident at this point that I could maintain this level of fitness by continuing on with Jason & Emma, attending various group exercise classes.


My weight has remained off, my eating habits have not been a fad and I can't remember the last time I cramped up. Additionally I have been playing indoor & outdoor soccer without injury or knee pain which has been a true testament to Jason's corrective exercise work.
